About Me

I am Larise Kühn, an educational psychologist.

I completed my undergrad- (BA) as well as my post-grad studies (BEd Psych Hons) (MEd) through the University of Pretoria. I was a registered counselor for a few years, whereafter I realized that I have a specific interest in assessments and emotional and behavioral difficulties in children. I thoroughly enjoy the journey of exploring the child's potential, temperament, and perceptions about themselves and others. I am known as the 'heart aunty'… I aim to listen to and understand the hearts of everyone that enters my door. Psycho-educating parents and children is an essential aspect of my way of doing. Families, children, in particular, development, and the dynamics between them make me enthusiastic. I am also fascinated by temperaments, relationships, and all people. Relationships are of imperative value to me. I completed my internship as an educational psychologist at Epworth Children's Village and am currently working in private practice. As part of my HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa) requirements, I regularly attend Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses to broaden my knowledge and stay up to date with the latest research. As a result of each client's uniqueness and temperament, I do not use and recommend only one therapy or assessment approach. I use a variety of approaches to help you and your child blossom. I am, however, more inclined to use a systemic and solution-focused approach.”
